Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is it cheaper to reupholster than buy new?
Yes. And, well… No. For all full explanation read the article here.
Q: Can I supply my own fabric?
Occasionally we accept COM orders if the fabric is upholstery weight and passes our physical assessment. We do not offer warranty because we can’t verify origin or quality of the fabric. At our discretion a surcharge may apply.
Q: Do you pick up and deliver?
No. We stay close to our strengths, providing great workmanship and value. Click the Vendors page reputable for a delivery company we recommend.
Q: Do you do in-home estimates?
Our preference is to meet in the showroom. We have a large fabric sample selection that will allow you to find the exact color and texture you desire.
Q: How long does it take to do the job?
Typical turnaround time: 2-3 weeks once its in the shop.
Q: My dog ate the arm on my leather sofa… is it worthwhile to fix?
Best answer… sometimes. If you purchased a $599 leather couch from the outlet, a replacement hide can cost $500 before you add 3-4 hours labor, in which case doesn’t make economic sense.
Q: Can leather be re-dyed or colored?
Yes. Click the Vendors page of companies we recommend.
Q: Do you do vinyl repair?
No. Our primary services include reupholstery and new custom upholstery.
Q: What is the process for getting started on a reupholstery project?
Contact us. We’ll meet and ask some questions about your project and your expectations. If we believe our services are a good fit for you, we will work along with you on the details. Once you approve the proposal and provide an initial payment, we can schedule your project!
Q: Do you offer training courses or coaching?
Not yet. If I receive enough inquiries I would consider adding a Do-it-Yourself program or something similar to our list of services.
